Woman human trafficker held

Police arrested a woman human trafficker from Southpara  village in Shibpur upazila yesterday morning. The arrested is identified as Rokeya Begum, 40, of Kutubertek village in Shibpur upazila and a member of human traffickers’ gang.
 Police said Rokeya Begum sent Tapas Barman, 20, son of Niranjan Barman of Shibpur village  to Ivory Coast about six months ago assuring him of a respectful job there, but the father of Tapas, having no idea about the whereabouts of his son, filed a case with Shibpur police station against Rokeya.
 Acting on a tip-off, police investigating inspector Mokhlesur Rahman raided Dakhinpara village and arrested Rokeya Begum. The woman has been taken on remand, police said.
