Kester Akon scored a couple of goals, as Arambagh Krira Sangha took a sweet revenge of their solitary goal defeat in the Champions League against Uttar Baridhara with a 2-1 victory after coming from a goal down yesterday in the JB Bangladesh Premier League Football at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong yesterday..
Sentu Chandra put Baridhara into lead early in the 19th minute and Kester Akon scored one in each session to steer Arambagh to earn full points.
However, the match between the Champions League holders Baridhara and the runners- up Arambagh began the match in good pace and enjoyed the ball possessions almost evenly but the latter had better domination throughout 90 minutes.
Baridhara drew the first blood with building up a move down the right side while Monir made a beautiful cross inside the box and Sentu Chandra was in right position to slam home a close range header on 27th minute following a Rohit Sarker powerful right footer was saved by Arambagh custodian at the cost of a corner in the very fifth minute (1-0).
Arambagh reacted strongly after conceding the goal and levelled the margin on 27th minute with Kester Akon brilliantly sent the ball into net from the penalty arch with a free kick (1-1).
Baridhara had also kept up domination after the breather. On the other hand Arambagh continued their counter attacks strategy, but their moves were very much sharp and quick from which they created better opportunity and also scored another goal to taste a victory in the first round.
Kester Akon, captain of Arambagh, who looked stubborn with the ball, scored the winning goal when after receiving a through pass edging past his marker and beat the goal keeper with a placing shot into far post on 81st (2-1).
Saiful Bari Titu, head of Arambagh in his post match reaction said, “I am extremely lucky, to win the match, team did not play well at all, the could not play with planning. To be honest Baridhara played well.” “I am not satisfied with my team’s performance but happy with the result. Kestor, was supposed to play for national side but unfortunate for injury.”
Rashed Hossain Pappu, counterpart of Titu said, “My team could play better I am happy, but conceded the goals for defense lacking. But I don’t think about this defeat.”
