Benapole: Some 11 teachers of nine madrasahs in Keshabpur upazilas of Jessore districts have been suspended on charge of drawing salaries despite being in detention in several sabotage cases, reports UNB.
Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education issued the suspension order through a letter signed by its Assistant Director (Special) Mohsena Begum. Salaries of those teachers will be kept withheld next until the cases against them are disposed, the letter says.
Contacted, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Keshabpur said they are yet to receive the letter from the directorate, adding that steps will be taken as per directive in the letter. The eleven teachers were arrested on suspicion of link to subversive activities, said Officer-in-charge of Keshabpur Police Station Shahidul Islam Shahid.
