A taskforce constituted after the terrorist attack at a Gulshan restaurant that killed 28 people predominantly foreigners holds its first meeting today to discuss the ways to ensure security of the foreigners and prepare them for any future such incidents. The eight -member taskforce, led by Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, will sit at the state guest house Padma at 3:00pm to talk about the entire issue related to the security for the foreigners living in the country especially the diplomats, a top Foreign Ministry official said yesterday.
Prime Minister’s Security Adviser Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique is the alternative head of the taskforce while Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque is the Member-Secretary, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Abul Kalam Azad and representatives from Home Ministry, Bangladesh Police, National Security Intelligence (NSI) and Armed Forces Division are the other four members.
