Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Mohammad Sayedul Huq yesterday said veterinary medical teams will monitor the cattle markets during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha to prevent use of steroid and chemicals with fodders, reports BSS. He made it public speaking as the chief guest at a national conference in the city to review the activities of the department of livestock. Held at Farmgate Krishibid Institute, the function was attended by State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda as the special guest.
Sayedul Huq said legal actions would be taken so that none can fatten cows through unscrupulous means ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha. He called upon all to make a success the programme of disbursing Tk 200crore loan at 5 per cent interest to raise cows to attain self-sufficiency in milk production.
