Peya made first Bangladeshi cover girl in Vogue

Besides demonstrating her beauty with talent in the both local and international modelling scene, lustrous model Jannatul Ferdous Peya has also earned attention of the viewers for her presence in TV plays and films. Peya, with her immense potential, represented Bangladesh in the international arena several times. This time around, talented Bangladeshi model-actress Peya is on the cover of October issue of prestigious Vogue magazine. This is for the first time that any female model from Bangladesh has been featured as a cover girl for the world-famous Vogue magazine.
Vogue is mainly a lifestyle and fashion-based American magazine, which regularly publishes different editions in 23 countries across the globe. In reply to a question about working as a cover girl for this world-renowned magazine, Peya said, “I have done many works in home and abroad and earned huge admiration from every corner. But I have always been waiting for a work of this magnitude. I am feeling fantastic for the opportunity.”
Peya informed DhakaLive that she has taken part in the photo shoot for the magazine cover recently. She went to Mumbai for a two-day trip last week, where she completed the most-awaited photo shoot of her career.
When asked about how she got involved in the project, Peya said, “Vogue magazine management assessed the profiles of many Bangladeshi models online and they selected my profile. Then, after liking my photos, they contacted me directly. The photo shoot of the magazine took place in a Mumbai studio. I will be seen on the cover of October issue of the magazine, which will be published on the occasion of ninth founding anniversary of the magazine.”
Alongside her showbiz activity, Peya is currently studying to be a lawyer. She is now working an associate with veteran lawyer Dr Kamal Hossain, one of the principal authors of the Constitution of Bangladesh.
Peya made her big screen debut through the film ‘Chorabali’ directed by Redwan Roni. Peya-starrer other films are ‘Story of Samara’, ‘Gangster Returns’ and ‘Chhitmahal’. l
