Man to die for killing wife, children

A court yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife, daughter and son in 2008. The court also fined the  convict Alamgir Hossain, 45, a village doctor and a resident of Patakata village in Mathbaria upazila, Tk 50,000.
According to the prosecution, Alamgir hacked his wife Hafiza, 35, son Ashraful, 11, and daughter Jamila, 3, to death on June 22, 2008 over his extramarital affair. Abul Bashar, brother of Hafiza, filed a case on the following day. Police arrested Alamgir on June 24. After examining the records, Additional District and Sessions Judge SM Zillur Rahman handed down the verdict.
