Tallawahs pay price for sending Shakib at lower order

Jamaica Tallawahs paid the price of sending Shakib Al Hasan in lower order when a stiff chase was on the cards and finally lost the game to St Lucia Zouks for the second consecutive time in two days by 17 runs form at the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in Florida on Sunday.
Shakib was used as the No. 8 batsman like the previous game and as he couldn’t express him much as lower order batsman and it also didn’t come  good for Tallawahs. The ace all-rounder is used to bat at higher order and even in IPL, he batted as middle order batsman.
Shakib however had ordinary day in both batting and bowling in Jamaica’s last match of the group phase on Sunday. He shared the new ball but couldn’t take any wicket after giving away 21 runs in three overs. In batting, he was unbeaten on run-a-ball-9.
The two defeats in consecutive two games however couldn’t ruin Tallawahs as they confirmed the play-offs much earlier. They finished as second with 13 points, behind the Guyana Amazon Warriors who had 14 points. Both teams will take on each other to go straight to the final. The loser will get another chance to go to the final as they take on the winner of the Eliminator in qualifier-2 match. Zouks will play the Eliminator game against Trinbago Knight Riders.
Zouks innings was almost a carbon copy of the previous match as Andre Fletcher and Johnson Charles put on 104 runs for the first wicket from 68 balls. Both men were brutal on everything that the Tallawahs’ bowlers served up, and both of them made half centuries in the process as the Zouks made 194 for three from their 20 overs.  Tallawahs were restricted to 177 for six.
