The India team management will request the BCCI to have a word with the ICC over the umpiring in the just concluded ODI series in Bangladesh, according to a report published yesterday in Hindustan Times.
There were murmurs about the umpiring from the first ODI but Ambati Rayudu’s dismissal in the final game has forced the team to take up the matter with the board, says the newspaper.
Rayudu was given out caught behind by Bangladesh umpire Enamul Haque as he moved well outside off-stump and tried to hit Mashrafe over fine-leg. However, TV replays showed the ball had struck the thigh pad and there was no contact with the bat. According to sources, the team management’s letter to the BCCI will have the endorsement of Dhoni and team director Ravi Shastri.
