Sadharan Bima Corporation (SBC), the lone state-owned non-life insurer, earned a net profit of Tk 2.83 billion for the year 2015. It is Tk 36 crore higher than that of the previous year. The corporation earned Tk 2.47 billion in 2014, a press statement said yesterday.
It was disclosed at its board of directors meeting in the capital recently, said a statement. Chairman of the board of directors of SBC Sohrab Uddin presided over the meeting.
The meeting approved annual accounts of the corporation for the year 2015.
The meeting was told that in 2015, premium income of the corporation reached Tk 2.07 billion.
In 2015, SBC paid Tk 2.03 billion against various claims.
Besides, the corporation paid Tk 1.40 billion as income tax and Tk 2.5 billion as profit to the government exchequer during the same period.
