4 Tahir men taken on remand
A Chittagong court on Wednesday granted three-day remand to the four suspected members of banned militant outfit Hizbut Tahir in a case filed under the Anti-terrorism Act.
The court of Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmul Hossain Chowdhury, granted the three-day remand to each one of them after the investigation officer prayed for a 10-day remand in a case filed under the Anti-terrorism Act with Panchlaish thana, court sources said.
The alleged Hizbut Tahir members were identified as Foysal Bin Aziz, 24, Sultan Mohammad Khan, 29, Ariful Islam, 24 and Fakhrul Abedin, 26.
A team of Bakalia police arrested Aziz for his suspicious movement from Kolpolok Residential area under Bakalia thana and later, based on information provided by him, police arrested the three others from Mehidibag area under Panchlaish thana in the city. Later, police recovered some Jihadi books, leaflets and press releases from their possession.
Later, a case was filed under the Anti-terrorism Act with Panchlaish thana.

Two arrested with yaba tablets
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two drug traders with 6,000 pieces of yaba tablets from city’s Mohora area on Wednesday morning.
The arrested ‘drug traders’ were identified as Sazzadul Karim,34, hailed from Sitakundu upazila of the district and Ali Hossain,32, hailed from Taqnaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district. A team of RAB-7 squad raided Mohora area in the city at 11 am and recovered 6,000 pieces of yaba tablets from their possessions.

Workshop on nat’l youth policy
A workshop on finalising National Youth Policy-2016 was heldin the capital with the objectives to collect feedback, opinions, suggestions and recommendations from key policymakers, stakeholders and experts in the arena of youth development and engagement in order to finalise the draft policy.
Centre for Research and Information (CRI) organised the workshop incollaboration with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Department of Youth Development (DYD). The workshop also provided an opportunity to brainstorm on the next steps which include developing an Action Plan for implementing this policy.
The workshop served as an effective forum for the stakeholders to give their opinions directly to the policymakers as regards the draft National Youth Policy, as well as affording the opportunity for a very participatory and representative discussion on youth development in Bangladesh.

Gazipur RMG factory catches fire
A fire broke out at a garment factory in Banglabazar area of Gazipur city early yesterday.
Hasibur Rahman, station officer of Joydebpur fire service station, said the fire broke out in the factory of JM Fabrics in the area at about 2:00am and soon spread the entire factory.
The blaze burnt valuables, including readymade garments and machines. Being informed, four firefighting units from Joydebpur and Sripur rushed in and extinguished the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts. The reason behind the fire and extent of loss caused by the fire could not be known immediately.

Workshop on beauty parlour business today
Lingering Look Institute (LLI) will organise a workshop titled ”Learn the Secret of Beauty Parlour Business” tomorrow (Friday) in the city’s Dhanmondi , says a press release.
From this workshop people will know how to start a beauty parlor business.
Moreover, LLI offering lots of short courses and long courses on makeup, hair cut, facial treatment, hair coloring etc.
