Ctg kanungo arrested in graft cases

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday arrested a former kanungo of Chittagong Deputy Commissioner’s office in four graft cases, reports UNB.
ACC deputy assistant director Manik Lal Das of its Chittagong zila office-1 detained kanungo Mohammad Shamsul Haque from Rangamati, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
Earlier, on December 28, 2015, the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the four cases against him with Kotwali Police Station in Chittagong for allegedly swindling about Tk 55 lakh during land acquisition for a government power plant.
Haque plundered the money while disbursing it to people who were not the owners of the land the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office acquired for the power plant, Pranab
said.
