A writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking directives to cancel the Junior School Certificate (JSC) of class VIII citing the examination as illegal, reports UNB.
Eunus Ali Akond, a Supreme Court lawyer, filed the writ petition with the HC bench concerned on Wednesday.
Secretaries to the Ministries of Education, Primary and Mass Education, chairmen of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Boards of Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Jessore, Comilla, Barisal, Sylhet and Dinajpur and Technical Education Board were made respondents to the writ.
According to the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Ordinance, 1961, the SSC, HSC and its equivalent examinations are being held as public examinations and there is nothing called JSC examination in the ordinance, said the petition.
