Four robbers arrested, guns recovered

KHULNA: The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) yesterday arrested four robbers and recovered four guns and 23 rounds of bullets from their possession in Dakop upazila of the district, reports BSS.
Director of RAB-6 Khondokar Rafiqul Islam said at a press conference at his office.
He also said, on secret information, a special team of RAB raided the residence of Mona Sarder, chief of 'Mona Bahini', a robbers’ gang of Sundarban, at Baniashanta village at around 3.30 pm.
The arrested are Khokon Sardar, 40, Saheb Ali Gazi, 43, Alamgir Bapery, 40 and Shohor Ali, 40.
Khondokar Rafiqul Islam said the gang were preparing to commit a robbery  in Sundarbans area.
Sensing the presence of elite force some robbers along with 'Bahini Chief Mona' managed to escape from the scene, he added.
A case was filed with Dakop Police Station in this connection.
