Young generation must be protected from militancy, say speakers

BSS

RAJSHAHI: All the peace-loving and patriotic people should come forward and work together for protecting the young generation from all sorts of crimes like extremism, militancy and drug addiction, speakers at a discussion here said, reports BSS.
They viewed that building crimes-free society has become an urgent need to protect the young generation from deadly consequences of the crimes. To attain the cherished goal, the law enforcing agencies and the community people should put in their best efforts as law enforcers alone isn’t capable to overcome the crises.
Discussants made the observations while addressing a community level awareness, terrorism and anti-drug-addiction meeting held at Nawdapara crossing under Shahmukhdum Police Station in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) organised the meeting with the main thrust of encouraging and motivating the people towards freeing the society from various crimes. Md Shafiqul Islam, Commissioner of RMP, attended and addressed the function as the chief guest saying the community people and the parents in particular should take the responsibilities of protecting the young generation from getting involved in crimes.
With Deputy Commissioner (West) Nahidul Islam in the chair, Deputy Commissioner (Headquarter) Tanveer Haider Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner (East) Abu Jafar and Senior Assistant Commissioners Ifte Khahyer Alam and Golam Saklayen and Vice-chairman of Paba Upazila Parishad Ashraful Haque also spoke. The discussants unanimously said eradicating all sorts of terrorisms particularly terror attacks and militancy is the precondition to uphold peace and social harmony everywhere in the society for the sake of taking forward the country successfully.
They viewed there is no alternative to eliminating militancy and terror attacks in strong hand besides forging social resistance to this end. This is the high time of unearthing causes behind generation of the militancy. RMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam said that all quarters should supplement the government efforts towards freeing the nation from the curse of militancy and terror attacks.
Terming those, who are involved with terrorist and militant activities, secret and targeted killings as the enemies of Islam, he stressed on engaging united efforts of all concerned for resisting the evil forces involved with such heinous activities.
