NARAYANGANJ: Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) yesterday announced its 5th budget of Taka 601 crore 20 lakh 29 thousand 791 for the current fiscal year (2016-2017), reports BSS.
Placing the budget on the NCC premises in the morning in presence of 36 councilors, elite of the city and media men, Mayor Dr Salina Hayt Ivy said Taka 578 crore 56 lakh 53 thousand 416 have been earmarked for the overall development of the city. She said there will be a surplus of Taka 22 crore 63 lakh 76 thousand 375 at the end of the year. Terming the budget as a role model of development in the city, she said the proposed budget aims to boost the development of infrastructures of civic amenities like construction of ten-storey new NCC office building, roads, drains, bridge, culverts, poverty reduction, ICT development, health and sanitation, traffic jam and water logging.
Construction of compost plant at Fatullah, construction of Alauddin Khan Stadium at Gymkhana playground, beautification of Gymkhana lake at Baburail, Urban Primary healthcare centre at Deobhog, preservation of friendly environment atmosphere in the city, re-excavation of Tanbazaar boat canal are also part of the development work, she further said.
