Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police have seized fake stamps worth Tk 60.66 crore raiding a printing press at Lalkuthi in the capital, reports UNB. A CID team conducted the drive at the printing press located at 157 Lalkuthi of 1st Colony under Darus Salam Police Station at about 10am. During the drive that lasted for seven and half an hours till 5:30pm, the law enforcers recovered counterfeit stamps, including revenue, court fee, judicial and non-judicial stamps. Contacted, sub-inspector Latif of CID said they conducted the raid getting information from Bulbul, who was arrested from Lalkuthi area along with fake stamps worth around Tk 19 crore on June 19. During interrogation while on a four-day remand, Bulbul revealed that fake stamps were being produced in the printing press. Bulbul is now in Dhaka Central Jail. When the CID team conducted the drive on Friday, the printing press was locked from the outside, SI Latif said.
