Uttar Baridhara upset Russel

Khalequzzaman of Uttar Baridhara converted a penalty in the second half to make an upset defeating the title contenders Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by a solitary goal yesterday.
Held at the MA Aziz Stadium in the day’s second match, in a bid to fight for the championship, the reining runners-up Russel saw a big blow conceding the defeat in the very first match when the title aspirants failed to demonstrate their real performance against the newly promoted Baridhara. Baridhara, who returned in the Premier League after being relegated in their first appearance in 213-14, stunned the treble winners of 2011-12.But in the injury time, a goal from Paul Emily was cancelled for offside while Russel’s coach Maruful Haque in the post match press meet also voiced his disappointment with the referee’s decision.
