RAJSHAHI: A total of 144 best organizers received prizes for their laudable contribution towards motivating students in book reading in 22 Upazilas under Rajshahi division, reports BSS. The prizes were distributed in a divisional level function held at Caritas conference hall in Rajshahi city yesterday afternoon. Bishwa Sahitya Kendra under its Reading Habit Programme organized the programme in association with Secondary Education Quality and Access Enhancement Project (SEQAEP). SEQAEP Director Mahamud-Ul-Haque and addressed the discussion as chief guest with its Additional director Dr Jahangir Alam in the chair. Director of Department of Secondary and Higher Education Prof Dr Abdul Mannan Sarker, Deputy Director of Local Government Division Dr Dewan Shahriar Firoj and Team Leader of Reading Habit Programme Sharif Md Masud also spoke. In his remarks, Mahamud-Ul-Haque says book always makes people beautiful, brighten and prosperous. Only the people enriched with prosperous heart can build bright Bangladesh. He expected that the students and young generation will develop Bangladesh through making themselves enriched with nation-building knowledge. Haque said reading habit enlightens people, and easy and creative books are very essential for wide spreading reading habit. He underscored the need for reaching books at the doorsteps of the readers to make it happened.
