Six minority Hindu community leaders in Bhuapur Upazila of Tangail received death threats last night. Suspected militants posted threat letters in front the gates of their houses, mentioning the names of the six persons. Those receiving death threats are Soron Dutta, president of Upazila Hindu-Buddha-Christian Okkya Parisad, Sontosh Kumar Dutta, vice-president of Bhuapur Press Club and secretary of SUJAN, Nitai Chandra Barman, VP-of Falda Kali mondir Managing Committee, Kanak Chandra Ghosh, Member of Falda UP, Susil Ranjan Bosak, a retired teacher, Sadhon Majumder, president of Falda Prokoisol Sramik Union, and minority community leader Vojan Chandra Gosh. Fazlul Kabir, OC of Bhuapur Police Station, said after getting information police removed the posters. Law enforcers have been posted in the area. The offenders will be brought to justice after they are indentified. The minority community has been ensured security, the OC added.
