10-year-old boy killed by pumping air into rectum
Brutality again!
A child was murdered, allegedly by pumping air into his rectum using a compressor machine in Jatramura area of Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj yesterday. The victim was identified as Sagor Barman, 10, son of Ratan Barman. The father and the son both worked at the Jobeda Textile and Spinning Mills, where the incident took place. They lived in Barabo area of Rupganj. The victims father told reporters that members of a rival group pumped air through the rectum of Sagor using a compressor machine yesterday noon at the factory. As the child became ill, he was rushed to a local clinic and later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed at about 3:30. Doctors at the DMCH said the abdomen of the child was abnormally swollen, which may have been caused due to pumping of pressurized air. However, the actual cause of death can be determined only after the autopsy, they said. Local police said the compressor machine allegedly used in the murder was seized and police were looking into the incident. However, no case was filed over the incident and nobody arrested till yesterday evening.
In a similar incident of brutality, a 12-year old child named Rakib was murdered by his former employer and other co-workers on August 3 last year by pumping air through his rectum using a compressor machine. A Khulna court, in November last year, sentenced two people to death in the case after completing the trial in the sensational case in just 10 working days.
