Elderly man killed over land dispute

Thakurgaon: An elderly man was killed in a clash ensuing from at arbitration meeting over a land-related dispute at Akannopur village in Pirganj upazila on Saturday afternoon, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Abu Taher Kalu, 65, son of late Moshir Uddin, a resident of the village.
KM Shawkat, officer-in-charge of Pirganj Police Station, said there had been a longstanding dispute between Abu Taher and his brother over the ownership of a piece of land.
