The 4th Bangladesh Summit on Sustainable Development begins here today to review the implementation and monitoring process of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reports BSS.
The two-day Summit is being jointly organised by Secretariat of Global Citizens' Forum on Sustainable Development (GCFSD) and Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation with the theme "Implementation and Monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals". The forum was introduced in 2012.
The Summit, to be held at the PKSF auditorium in the city on July 24-25, will have seven plenary sessions to discuss the issues including poverty, healthy, education, public safety, climate change and safe water.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will inaugurate the Summit while economist and PKSF Chairman Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad will preside over the inaugural and different sessions.
The Summit will promote the need of implementing and monitoring the new set of goals and impact on environment, economy and social factors.
