RANGPUR: Leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have demanded for immediately bringing back Tarique Rahman from the United Kingdom to implement the recent High Court verdict delivered against him, reports BSS.
The demand was made in a post-protest procession rally organised by the district unit of BCL at its district unit office premises in Batar Goli Mour of the city on Saturday afternoon. Earlier, hundreds of the leaders and activists of the district unit of BCL participated in the procession that paraded the city streets from its district unit office and retuned there to join the protest rally. Presided over by President of the district unit of BCL Mehedee Hasan Rony, its General Secretary Rakibul Hasan kanon moderated the post-protest procession rally.
Senior Vice-president of district BCL Shamim Sarder, its Vice-presidents Nure Alam Khushi, Shariful Islam Sharif, Shahinul Islam Gazi, Zinnat Hossain, Rokunuzzaman Sagar, Joint Secretary Shere Jahan Shaon, Organising Secretary Adnan Hossain, Office Secretary Al Amin, Publicity Secretary Moktar Elahi Muard, addressed among others. In their speeches, the BCL leaders blamed Tarique Rahman, son of Begum Khaleda Zia, for patronising militancy and hatching conspiracies against the country and its people to destabilise the country.
They demanded for taking immediate action to bring back Tarique Rahman from the United Kingdom to the country for speedy implementation of the High Court verdict delivered recently against him.
