Teacher held for sheltering Sholakia attacker

Members of Rapid Action Batalion (RAB) arrested a madrasah teacher for sheltering Shariful Islam, an accused in a case over Sholakia terrorist attack, from Panthapara in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha early yesterday, reports UNB. The arrestee was identified as Anwar Hossain, 48, a resident of the area and super of Khalsi Ebtedayee Madrasah. Tipped off that Shariful was a tenant of Anwar’s house, they conducted a drive in the area and arrested him, said RAB-13 commander Kaisar Ali. He is being now interrogated at the local RAB camp, the official added. He said Shafiqul confessed that he had been staying in Anwar’s house before the attack. Earlier on July 7, the eid day, at least four people, including two policemen, were killed and 12 others injured in a bomb attack coupled with an exchange of gunfire after terrorists attacked at a temporary police check post near Sholakia Eidgah in Sadar upazila of Kishoreganj.
