RAB arrest two persons in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR: Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two persons from Churipotty area of Hili Market under Hakimpur upazila of the district at about 11.00am yesterday, reports BSS.
According to their confessional statement RAB members recovered one kilogram (1-KG) of gun powder and six cocktails from the area.
Camp Commander of Dinajpur RAB-13 Major Mahmud said on the basis of secret information RAB members conducted raid at Churipotty area of Hili Market this morning and arrested two persons with one KG of gun powder and six cocktails.
Arrested persons are Kalu Miah, 28, son of Shahiduddin of Madday Basudevpur village and Suhag Hossain, 26, son of abul Khair of Dakkin Basudevpur village.
Both of them were brought to RAB-13 camp head quarters for interrogation.
2,200-metre current nets seized in Cnawabganj
A mobile court seized 2,200 metres of current nets, used illegally in fishing, worth around Tk 5.85 lakh from the Mahananda River at Charmohonpur in Sadar upazila on Friday, reports UNB.
District Fisheries Officer Samsul Alam said a mobile court led by executive magistrate Rafiqul Islam conducted a drive in the area at about 11:30am. They recovered 2,200 meters of current nets in an abandoned condition from the spot.
None was arrested in this connection.
CI sheet, cash money distributed in Narsingdi
NARSINGDI: Department of Disaster Management distributed 129 bundles CI sheet (corrugated tin) and Taka 3.87 lakh among destitute families and institutions of Sadar upazila, reports BSS.
State Minister for Water Resources Lt Col (Retd) Nazrul Islam (Birpratik) distributed the tin and cash money at a function on the premises of Sadar upazila parishad on Friday.
