Ishwarganj UNO awarded for stance against early marriage

MYMENSINGH: Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Ishwarganj Upazila Rajib Sarkar was awarded “Administrative Award 2016 for taking significant role to make Ishwargonj upazila early marriage free,” reports BSS.
Ministry of Public Administration selected him for Administrative award 2016 for his contribution in the field for reducing early marriage and turning the Ishwarganj upazila as early marriage free upazila of the district.
District administration today handed over the award to UNO Rajib Sarkar through a function held at the auditorium of Deputy Commissioner Office yesterday.
With DC Mustakim Billah Faruqui in the chair, Additional Divisional Commissioner Muzammel Haque was present as chief guest and handed over the award including medal, certificate and cash Taka 50,000.
The function was addressed among others by DIG of police, Mymensingh Range, Chowdhury Abdullah al Mamun, Additional Deputy Commissioner (general), Harunur Rashid, Principal of Mominunnessa Government College NM Shajahan Sarkar, District Women Affairs Officer Basirannesa, Deputy Director Agriculture Altabur Rahman and others.
