Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Wednesday arrested seven alleged mobile thieves from Mirpur area in the capital. They were identified as Rajibul Islam, Mokbul Khan, Monir Hossain , Md Shohel, Selim Alam, Nazmul Islam and Liton. DB also seized 138 mobile sets of different brands from their possession. Talking to The Independent, Deputy Police Commissioner (DB-North) Shaikh Nazmul Alam said getting secret information, a team of DB raided in Lalmati area under Pallabi police station around 10am. Later, they arrested the seven alleged mobile thieves and seized huge numbers of phone sets, he added. During the primary interrogation, they admitted that after stealing the phone sets, they later sell these through their own brokers in the capital the top DB officer quoted the arrested thieves as saying. Later executive magistrate Md Abdul Kuddus sentenced each three months to jail.
