The 91st birth anniversary of Tajuddin Ahmad, the first prime minister of Bangladesh, was observed with various programmes in Kapasia of Gazipur yesterday. Kapasia unit of Chhatra League brought out a procession in the upazila town in the morning. Later, they cut a cake at the upazila Awami league office. Debate competition, poetry recitation and football tournament were organised to mark the day. A discussion was also organised at the upazila Awami League office chaired by former president of Kapasia upazila Chhatra League Razib Ghosh. President of upazila Awami League Mohammed Shahidullah, Vice president Mazharul Islam Salim, General Secretary Mohammed Mizanur Rahman Pradhan, Organising Secretary Asaduzzaman Asad, President of upazila Awami Juba League Mahbub Uddin Ahmed Salim and Chairman of Kapasia union parishad Shakhawat Hossain Pradhan spoke, among others. Tajuddin Ahmad was born in Dardaria village of Kapasia upazila in Gazipur.
