RANGPUR: Leaders of city unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have demanded for bringing back Tarique Rahman from abroad to implement the verdict delivered against him by the country’s High Court, reports BSS.
They made the demand while addressing a post-protest procession rally on Press Club premises in the city on Friday afternoon.
Earlier, leaders and activists of the city and other units of BCL in different educational institutions of the city took part in the rally that paraded the city streets from district Awami League (AL) office to the Press Club. Presided over by president of city unit of BCL Shafiur Rahman Swadhin, its General Secretary Sheikh Asif Hossain moderated the rally. General Secretary of city unit of AL Tushar Kanti Mandal addressed the rally as the chief guest.
Presidents and General Secretaries of the Carmichael College, Rangpur Medical College, Government College, Polytechnic Institute, Tazhat Agriculture Institute, Begum Rokeya University units of BCL addressed the rally, among others. The BCL leaders strongly demanded for taking immediate action to bring back Tarique Rahman to the country from abroad and take immediate action against him through implementing the High Court verdict.
