Four apparel workers yesterday received burn injuries in a fire originated from the kitchen in CEPZ area of the port city. The victims were identified as Salma (21) and her younger sister Khinur (20), Nargis Akhter (20) and her younger brother Noyon (17). They were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH). The four injured, who are workers of the same apparel factory, live in the same tin-shed house in CEPZ area. The CMCH sources said that the victims were admitted to the Burn Unit of the hospital at 3:30am yesterday. The apparel workers went to sleep keeping the switch of the burner on. As a result, the gas spread all over the house at night. They sustained burn injuries when they light the burner for cooking purpose. Of the four, Nargis and Noyon were admitted to the hospital in a critical condition, said the CMCH sources.
