Enclave people will get health services: Nasim

The government is to ensure healthcare service for the enclave people through establishing union sub-health centre, community clinic and EPI vaccination centre at Dimla upazila in Nilphamari district, reports BSS.Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said this while replying to a tabled question from treasury bench member M Aftab Uddin Sarkar in parliament yesterday. The government would undertake various programmes to ensure fundamental rights of the enclave people after implementation of the Land Boundary Agreement signed between Bangladesh and India, he said.
Nasim informed the House that his ministry would set up union sub-health care centre, community clinic, union health and family welfare centre and EPI vaccination centre on priority basis for the enclave people.
He said the government would take initiative to provide healthcare education and population control facilities through the field workers in the areas where enclave people are living.
The government would also ensure nutritional facilities for the children side by side with healthcare service for the pregnant and lactating mothers and free medicine from the public hospitals for the enclave people located at Dimla upazila, the minister told the House.
Besides, the government would consider setting up community clinic at all enclaves, side by side with recruiting service providers by creating new posts and provide medicine and other necessary materials to all enclave people, he said.
