Robbers loot jewellery shop

Robbers looted about 200 tolas of gold ornaments from a jewellery shop in the district town on Wednesday night.
Owner of New Meghna Jewelers Swapan Kumer said a gang of armed robbers numbering 10-15 stormed into the shop in Niltuli area of the town around 8:15pm. The attackers took the employees of the shop hostage at gunpoint and looted about 200 tolas of gold ornaments and other valuables.
They managed to flee the scene blasting 9-10 crude bombs, he said.
Superintendent of Police Jamil Hasan said on information, police rushed in and recovered an unexploded crude bomb from the spot.
Police started a drive to arrest the criminals, said he.
