Jamaat leader arrested in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT: Police arrested a local leader of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami from frontier area in Patgram upazila of the district yesterday, reports BSS. The arrestee was M Ataur Rahman, organizing secretary of Zila Jamaat. On a tip-off, a team of police from Patgram Thana conducted a drive in the area and arrested Ataur. Superintendent of Police SM Rashidul Haque confirmed the matter. Different cases were pending against him for carrying out subversive activities.
