DU to stage anti-terrorism demo on July 25
Teachers, students and officials of Dhaka University (DU) will form a human chain on the campus on Monday, aiming to create mass awareness against terrorism and militancy in the country. The decision was taken at a meeting at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban with DU VC Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair yesterday. Urging people to create a mass resistance against terrorism and militancy, Dr Arefin Siddique said all will have to work from his/her respective position for raising awareness among people. He said social and political leaders and professional groups will have to come forward and work unitedly to uproot terrorism and militancy from the country. Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the university Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Treasurer Professor Dr Kamal Uddin were, among others, present at the meeting.
