Poor people to get food grains ahead of Eid

Some 3,894 tonnes of food grains have been allotted for the distressed people of Nilphamari on the occasion of coming Eid-ul-Fitr. The district relief and rehabilitation office sources said the sanctioned food grains will be distributed among 3,76,934 needy people in all the six upazilas and four municipalities of the district. The sources said each beneficiary will get 10 kgs of food grains. The upazila-wise break-up of the beneficiaries and amount of food is as follows. Some 646.240 tonnes of food grains will be distributed among 64,624 poor in Dimla, 516.520 tonnes among 51,652 poor in Domar, 750.230 tonnes among 75,023 persons in Jaldhaka, 534.890 tonnes for 54,389 poor in Kishoreganj, 872,290 tonnes among 87,229 poor in Sadar and 426.340 tonnes among 42,634 poor in Saidpur. Besides, 46.210 tonnes of food grains will given to 4,621 poor in Nilphamari municipality, 43.210 tonnes among 4,621 persons in Saidpur, 30.810 tonnes among 3,081 in Jaldhaka municipality and 138.630 tonnes among 1,540 poor in Domar municipality.
