BB heist probe report to be made public soon: Muhith

Finance Minister AMA Muhith yesterday told Parliament that the investigation report on the $101 million heist from the Bangladesh Bank’s
fund will be made public within the next few days, reports UNB.
Muhith said he will make a statement over the cyber heist in the House during the ongoing session, the minister said in reply to a supplementary question from Jatiya Party MP Fakhrul Imam (Mymensigh-8).
“I think the probe report will be made public within the next few days. I’ll try to deliver a statement in this regard anytime in this session,” Muhith said.
On February 5, a huge amount of $101million was stolen from the Bangladesh Bank’s treasury account with the New Your Federal Reserve by cyber criminals.
Following the incident, the government formed a 3-member investigation committee headed by central bank’s former governor Dr Farashuddin on March 19.
The probe body submitted its preliminary report to Finance Minister AMA Muhith in April, while the final report on May 30 last.
Immediately after receiving the full probe report, Muhith said they will disclose the report within 15 to 20 days, but it is yet to be made public.
