BA, BSS exams of BOU begin today
Bangladesh Open University's (BOU) BA, BSS examinations will begin today (July 22) at its 216 examination centers across the country.
A total of 2,36,574 will appear at the examinations this year. Of the total, 1,35,290 are males and 1,01,284 females, a BOU press release said.

Teachers training workshop held at SUB
CHITTAGONG:  A three-day workshop on ‘teachers training’ concluded yesterday at Southern University Bangladesh (SUB) hall room in Chittagong, said a press release.
The training, held from July 19 to 21, 2016, was organised by Southern University Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) which was part of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) directed by University Grants Commission (UGC), The Ministry of Education with the assistance of the World Bank.
Professor AJM Nuruddin Chowdhury, director of IQAC of SUB, presided over the inaugural ceremony while the Vice-Chancellor of SUB Md Nurul Mustafa was present as a chief guest. Founder of SUB Sarwar Jahan and Director of Graduate Training Institute (GTI), Bangladesh Agriculture University, Mymensingh and facilitator of workshop, Mozahar Ali, registrar, dean of different departments, advisers, heads of departments and all teachers were present in the programme.  
The training workshop focused on learning outcome, assessment system, curriculum design and self-assessment; to develop teaching quality and enriched the quality of education.
Vice-Chancellor of SUB Md Nurul Mustafa awarded the certificates among the participants who successfully completed the workshop.

Women's Innovation Camp held at JU
Securing the motto of empowering women and creating equal rights and opportunity for women a 'Women's Innovation Camp' was held at seminar room of Jahir Raihan auditorium on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Wednesday.
Access to Information (a2i) programme under Prime Minister Office and Women and Children affairs ministry jointly arranged the event while JU Vice-Chancellor Farzana Islam inaugurated the function as the chief guest.
Programme coordinator of a2i project Shakila Rahman delivered key speech on the topic while JU Pro-VC Abul Hossen, Treasurer Abul Khair and director of the Student Welfare and Counseling Centre Rasheda Akhter addressed the function, among others.
