Noted freedom fighter and also a central leader of Sector Commanders' Forum Shirin Banu Mitil passed away in the capital early yesterday.
She was 66, reports UNB.
She breathed her last at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) around 1:30am. She died from a cardiac arrest, said a press statement.
She directly participated in the Liberation War under the command of Major MA Jalil in Sector 9. She left behind husband, two daughters, three sons and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn her death.
Her body will be kept at Dhaka Central Shaheed Minar from 10:30am to 11:30am today for paying tribute. She will be given a guard of honour.
The first namaj-e janaza will be held at DU Central Mosque around 11:45am today and she will be buried in Comilla.
