The Qulkhawni of Dr M Akhtaruzzaman will be held today (Friday) at H: 9/A, R: 1, Dhanmondi in the capital, says a press release.
Renowned cardiologist and former director of National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease (NICBD) Professor Dr M Akhtaruzzaman passed away on Tuesday at Metropolitan Medical Center (MMC) in the capital. He was 75.
Dr M A Zaman was born in an aristocratic Muslim family in Manikganj in 1942. He stood first in final MBBS examination in 1964. He obtained his MRCP degree in first attempt from Royal College of Physicians of UK. He was the founder and professor of Cardiology department in Dhaka Medical College and served from 1965-1970.
All relatives, colleagues and well-wishers have been requested to attend the Qulkhawni to pray for the departed soul.
