CU BCL infighting injures 1

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra league (BCL) Chittagong University (CU) Unit was injured early yesterday in a clash between two groups of BCL of CU unit over the ongoing movement of newly announced committee.
Due to the fight the shuttle train services between city and university campus remain suspended from Wednesday.
The injured was identified as Abir Iqbal, assistant secretary of the newly formed committee of the Chittagong University unit.
Police and BCL source said, at around 12am CU BCL president Md Alamgir Tipu and general secretary Fazly Rabby Sujon came under fire by an agitated group while they were coming to campus after announcing CU BCL committee.
Following this at around 1am, they locked in a clash in front of Shah Amanat Hall. At this time they exchanged about 40 rounds of bullets.
 “Hearing this news we rushed to the spot and took the situation under control at around 1:30am.said Md Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hathazari Police Station.”
Md Ali Asgar, proctor of CU said, “One BCL activist was injured. He was identified as Abir Iqbal, and given primary treatment from CU medical centre.
Meanwhile, Wednesday morning two people were injured as an agitated group of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chittagong University (CU) unit who did not get post at CU BCL committee carried an attack on university-bound shuttle train at Sholoshar railway station.
On the other hand, Railway authorities halted all the shuttle trains and Demo train services between the university campus and city following the attack.
That is why students did not come to campus to attend their classes.
A group BCL of CU unit started movement from Monday as a 201 members CU BCL unit was declared by central BCL.
Earlier the ‘deprived’ BCL men had given a 48 hour ultimatum to the central committee demanding rank on the campus committee.
