Family, fans remember their own Humayun Ahmed

The fourth death anniversary of prominent author, writer, dramatist and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed was observed in an appropriate manner on July 19.
Humayun's wife Meher Afroz Shaon and two sons Nishat and Ninit along with other family members visited Nuhash Palli on Tuesday and placed floral wreaths at the Humayun Ahmed’s graveyard.
Humayun's brothers Professor Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and cartoonist Ahsan Habib, sisters Sufia Haider, Mamtaz Shaheed, Roksana Ahmed and son Nuhash Humayun, among others, visited Nuhash Palli to pay homage to Humayun Ahmed on the occasion of his fourth death anniversary and offered prayers for the departed soul.
On the other hand, a large number of Humayun’s fans and members of Himu Paribahan visited Nuhash Palli on Tuesday to pay tribute to their beloved writer by wearing yellow panjabi and blue saree and kamiz. Moreover, they also distributed leaflets among the common people to raise awareness about cancer.
Besides, members of Himu Paribahan, a fan club of Himu—a character created by Humayun Ahmed organised seminars and free blood donation campaigns, holy Quran Khwani and doa mahfil, screening of Humayun Ahmed’s dramas, films and other events across the country.
Shaon recalled the memory of Humayun Ahmed, “I still can feel the presence of Humayun Ahmed everywhere. He is and will be everywhere.”
Later Shaon told reporters about founding a museum to preserve the memory of the writer, “We initially have selected his favourite Nuhash Palli as a suitable place to build the Humayun Memorial Museum. So that, the fans of Humayun Ahmed can always be in touch and see the belongings used by Humayun Ahmed at Nuhash Palli.”
Humayun Ahmed’s sons Nishat and Ninit planted two palm trees at the graveyard. Shaon’s father Muhammad Ali and mother Johura Ali were present at that time.
A Quran khawani and doa mahfil were also held at Nuhash Palli followed by a banquet for the orphans from Gazipur area.
