The 49th annual planning conference of Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) was held at its auditorium in Comilla yesterday. Director General of BARD Salahuddin Mahmud presided over the inaugural session says a press release.
AN Shamsuddin Azad Chowdhury, member, Planning Commission was present as chief guest while Tevita G Boseiwaqa Taginavulau, director general of CIRDAP, was also present as special guest and Kamrul Ashan, director (Training) of BARD delivered the welcome speech in the inaugural session.
BARD organised 86 training courses, where a total of 4,424 participants took part in the training courses last year.
In the current year BARD plans to organise 164 training courses, workshops and seminars.
