Kalia upazila chairman sent to jail

A court on Tuesday sent Kalia upazila chairman to jail rejecting his bail prayer in a murder case.
Court sources said Kalia Upazila Chairman Khan Shamimur Rahman along with 17 other accused appeared before the court and sought bail.  
Senior Judicial Magistrate Jahidul Azad passed the order rejecting their bail prayer and sent all of them to jail.  
It may be mentioned that Kalia Upazila Awami League Secretary and Upazila Chairman Shamimur Rahman is the prime accused in three cases, including a murder case, during the union parishad elections in the upazila.
