1,668 students get Chevron scholarship

Chevron Bangladesh has awarded scholarship to some 1,668 students from 41 educational institutions near its Bibiyana, Jalalabad and Moulvibazar natural gas fields recently, reports UNB. Chevron Bangladesh awarded the scholarships at separate events in Habiganj, Sylhet and Moulvibazar as a part of its ongoing yearly scholarship distribution programme for financially disadvantaged, meritorious students, said a statement yesterday. After Ramzan, scholarships will also be distributed amongst 49 students who received excellent grades in the recently published results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination. Chevron’s education programmes are administered by two national NGOs - Volunteers Association for Bangladesh (VAB) and Bangladesh Development Service Center (BDSC).
