Five Sholakia attack suspects denied bail

A Kishoreganj court rejected bail to five suspects, held from adjacent areas of Sholakia Eidgah ground on Eid day, and sent them to jail yesterday.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdus Salam passed the order after police produced the five before his court.
The accused are- Mamunur Rashid, 27, of Gorur Hat area, Md Sanaulllah, 30, of Boalia area, Sohel Miah, 20, of Pirojpur area under Bajitpur upazila, Tara Miah, 25, of Panchabati area under Bhairab upazila, and Ariful Islam Hasib, 26, of Tarapasha area.
They were earlier produced before the court on July 12 for their suspected involvement in the militant attack on police near Sholakia Eidgah ground that killed four people including two policemen.

Police recovered two firearms, two local made weapons, two rounds of bullets and four magazines from the spot.
Abir Rahman, a student of North South University, who was involved in the terrorist attack, was killed in police firing on the spot.
