Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers along with 10,000 yaba tablets from Shitoljorna area under Bayezid police station in Chittagong early yesterday.
The arrestees were Zahed Hossain alias Monu, 45, Afsar Kamal alias Raihan,26, and Anwarul Islam, 22, the trio hailing from Teknaf upzila of Cox’s Bazar district.
Acting on trip-off, police searched a vehicle in Shitalajarna residential area and nabbed the trio along with the 10,000 yaba tablets, said Mohammad Mohsin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bayezid police station. Police also seized the vehicle which was used for drug trafficking. In the primary interrogation the arrestees informed the police that they came here to delivery the yaba tablets to some Tajul Islam of Sayed Para of Oxygen area, added the OC. A case was lodged against the trio, the OC added.
Mentionable, on Tuesday Bayezid police arrested a suspected yaba peddler along with 5,000 yaba tablets from Roufabad area under Bayezid police station. The alleged drug peddler Fajor Ali, 38, , also hailing from Moulvi Para of Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
