FARIDPUR: An elderly woman was allegedly murdered by her daughter-in-law at Sadhuhati village under Saltha upazila of the district on Friday, reports BSS.
The deceased was identified as Alekjan Khatun, 70, wife of late Ainal Sikdar of Sadhuhati village under Jadunandi union of Saltha upazila.
Police said following a family feud Jainab Khatun, daughter-in-law of Alekjan, hit her mother-in-law (Alekjan) with a stick on her head on Thursday evening.
The injured was not shifted to any hospital who fell unconscious. Rather they tried to keep her in the house for nursing. But on Friday noon Alekjan succumbed to her injuries, police sources added.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The alleged killer Jainab is absconding.
A case was filed with Saltha police station in this connection.
