Naogaon: Two workers were killed and six others injured as a boiler blasted at a rice mill at Laskorpur village in Sadar upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain,45, a resident of Hapania village of Sadar upazila, and Sahed,38, a resident of Kurigram district.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Shamsul Alam said Anwar and Sahed, along with six others, were boiling rice at Tumpa Auto Rice Mill in the area in the morning.
At one stage, the boiler of the rice mill went off with a big bang at about 7:30am, leaving Anwar dead on the spot and seven others injured.
The injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where Sahed succumbed to his injures, the OC added.
