The home ministry has summoned the authorities of private universities to a meeting today to discuss issues relating to security measures in the wake of militant attacks in Gulshan and Kishoreganj. The meeting assumes significance as some students of two private universities were involved in these two incidents. Following this, private university authorities had beefed up their internal security measures, including monitoring of students, classes, mobile phones and bags, to crack down on such elements. Prof. Dr M Rezwan Khan, VC of United Int’l University (UIU), said they have received a letter from the home ministry for a meeting to discuss different issues, including security, pertaining to universities.
